An online contest named ‘Proud of Vietnam’ was recently organised for high school students to encourage students to learn more history...
Sitting in the room are the best candidates from Hanoi who passed preliminary rounds. The students only needed to register online and answer multiple-choice Vietnamese history questions. The winner was the one who had the most correct answers in the shortest time. An online test can be done within few minutes. Therefore, the contest has drawn the participation of 300,000 students from 2,600 high schools across the country a month after being launched. The final round has been held on provincial level on December 13th.
A girl named NGUYEN THU HA, a Student of Pham Hong Thai High School, Hanoi said: "There were questions that I didn’t know the answers to. I was curious and then researched the answers."
Sharing opinion about this case, NGUYEN THI TUYET MAI, a Teacher from Viet Duc High School, Hanoi said: "The questions focus on what students learn at high school and they’re the right level of difficulty."
Besides multiple choice test, students can take part in the video contest which they can make their own video to introduce a historical figure or a landmark in Vietnam. 130 videos, often showing a creative approach to history, have been submitted as part of the contest./.
