The latest silk fashion items from 20 designers and fashion manufacturers worldwide have been introduced to the public for the first time.
Toan Thinh silk, Nam Cao tussore, Nha Xa silk. Each designer with each collection uses a special material from a famous silk village. The latest 400 items took audiences through a journey to discover the creative story of silk. For foreign tourists, most of them were immediately fascinated by the variety of silks at first sight.
The designers have breathed new life into this luxurious and elegant material. Quang Nam Province is well-known for its silk brands such as Duy Xuyên, or Đại Lộc, which once contributed to the prosperity of Hội An trading port 300 years ago. The Vietnam - Asia Silk Culture Festival this year in Hội An is an attempt to continue the history of the past artisans, with the aim to revitalise Vietnam's silk culture, which is at risk of going out of business.
