Researchers at the Nha Trang Institute of Technology Research and Application found that fucoidan - a substance extracted from brown algae - was good for human health, the immune system and was even quite effective in the treatment and prevention of cancer. Scientists have found a method of strengthening fucoidan’s effects by using sulfate. Clinical tests on animals and living cancer cells prove the effectiveness of fucoidan with high sulfate content. Fucoidan production technology can be used with brown algae and any other kind of algae in Vietnam. This technology is also said to be cheap and easy to apply.
