Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that in order for Hoa Lac Hi Tech Park to play an important role in enhancing the country's science and technology, land clearance processing needs to be improved. He made the comment at a meeting on Thursday with Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the Park Management Board and Hanoi's authorities to complete land clearance this year while entrusting the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance to report him a plan to supplement capital for land clearance and technical infrastructure construction at the park. PM Phuc also reiterated the goal to develop Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park into a 'science city' hosting investors in biotechnology, information and communications, new material technology, and automation.
The PM tasked the Ministry of Science and Technology and the park authorities to co-ordinate with city authorities and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Government Office, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to promote investment in the coming time, while ensuring environmental protection and sustainable development.
“Hanoi city management and Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park management board need to clear the land in 2017, not leave it for another year. The city should closely co-ordinate so that the industrial parks located in the capital should not lack care and finance”, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Apart from infrastructure investment, it is necessary to select and draw knowledge-intensive manufacturing businesses to create high-quality and internationally-recognised products, he advised. The government leader also suggested persuading domestic scientists to seek technical solutions for pilot production.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also requested staff to collect ideas from the meeting to complete drafting a new decree on the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park for submission to the government and this will be the basis for this high-tech park development.
