According to statistics, as of June 30th, 66 foreign individuals and 15 institutions were officially granted stock trading codes by the Vietnam Securities Depository.
At present, the average foreign ownership ratio across listed companies on both of the stock exchanges stands at 20-25 percent. What it means is that the stock market can still attract large capital inflows from foreign investors. There are around 30 companies that have reached the 49 percent foreign ownership cap.
