The event kicked off with Party, State leaders and NA deputies laying floral wreaths and pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum prior to the meeting. Then they will pay tribute to Late Party General Secretary Do Muoi and State President Tran Dai Quang, who passed away a couple of weeks ago.
The 6th session of the 14th National Assembly, which lasts for 24 working days, is filled with tasks to complete. Besides the appointment of a new State President at the beginning of the session, the scheduled agenda includes ratification of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and related documents.
Over 24 working days, the NA is expected to adopt nine draft bills, review six draft bills besides personnel issues as well as socio-economic implementation from 2015 to 2020 as well as discussing 2019 socio-economic development plan.
