The NA leader made the statement at a ceremony held by the corporation in Ho Chi Minh City on March 15, to celebrate its 30th founding anniversary (1989-2019) and receive a Labour Order, first class.
She also hailed the corporation’s positive results in realising the Party’s resolution on re-organising, renovating and improving the efficiency of State-owned enterprises.
She asked the Ministry of Defence and the Vietnam People’s Navy to direct the corporation to continue strictly abiding by the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, while promoting the heroic tradition of the Vietnamese army and playing its vanguard role in implementing the strategy for the sustainable development of the sea-based economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Over its past three decades of establishment and development, Sai Gon Newport Corporation has served as a logistics base and military port, providing aid to the sea and island areas with a network of 28 ports and warehouses in major economic zones across the country.
Notably, in 2018, it put into operation the Cam Ranh International Port – the largest logistics and technical services supply centre for aircraft carriers and military ships in Southeast Asia.
