Malaysian authorities ordered the closure of 111 schools in the southern state of Johor, after a suspected chemical leak poisoned more than 200 children, teachers and other people.
However, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said that it has not yet reached the level which required evacuation.
Singaporean authorities said that no anomalies had been detected in the neighboring country's air and water quality, after the toxic waste dumping. In a joint statement, Singapore's relevant agencies said that they are closely monitoring the situation in Malaysia.
