At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasised the significance of this visit, especially in the context that the two countries are working to intensify their strategic partnership in the fields of economics, culture, education, health, and defence.
He asked the Japanese Upper House to continue support for the implementation of high-level economic agreements and foster the Japanese government’s continued provision of official development assistance at a high level for Vietnam to help it growth sustainably and fulfil the goal of becoming an industrialised country by 2020. Speaking of Vietnam’s development, President Yamazaki Masaaki said he and the House of Councillors will contribute more to the strong growth of the bilateral strategic partnership./.
