In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Health, Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuan, highly appreciated the Da Nang City’s leaders and Da Nang Hospital in particular for hosting the conference.
He hailed that this is the largest-scale event of its kind to be held, with nearly 200 reports to be presented by more than 60 domestic experts and 25 international experts, from countries around the world, including the US, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.
He believed that the conference would provide a good opportunity for Vietnamese doctors to exchange and learn experiences from international colleagues while updating new techniques in the diagnostic and treatment process for patients.
For his part, the Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh stressed that Da Nang City has made a bold investment in improving the quality of the healthcare system, to better care and protect people's health.
Over the past 5 years, the city has invested nearly 6,000 billion VND in the health sector, he reported.
He affirmed that the conference will create a breakthrough in the comprehensive development of Da Nang Hospital, as well as the health sector of Da Nang City and the whole country in general.
The conference included one plenary session, 27 thematic sessions and 6 pre-conference training sessions.
The conference will introduce 165 reports delivered by 132 domestic and 22 foreign experts. The reports cover various studies, such as endocrinology-metabolism, emergency resuscitation, digestive-hepatobiliary, oncology, kidney transplant, neurosurgery, and cardiothoracic surgery.
