Covering more than 300 sq.m in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, the warehouse is storing dry food such as rice, salt, fish sauce, eggs, and confectionary.
It also collects, classifies and stores food provided by businesses, supermarkets, farmers, and food establishments, across the central region.
The food will be distributed to the homeless, lonely elders, orphans, poor households, unemployed people, and those living in areas hit by natural disasters.
As a member of Food Bank Vietnam, GreenFoodBank operates under the sponsorship of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Vietnam Youth Federation.
Its mission is to provide free food to vulnerable and disadvantaged people, as well as people living in areas affected by natural disasters such as storms, floods, and droughts.
It also carries out activities to reduce food waste and proposes solutions on environmental protection solutions by promoting food waste recycling.
