VTV.vn - The Hanoi Museum received 1,017 artefacts and documents donated by 37 individuals and organisations at a ceremony held in Hanoi on September 12.

The donated artefacts and documents essentially meet the demand for the showcase at the museum which currently lacks 1,065 artefacts.

The objects feature the religious beliefs and lives of Hanoians in the early 20th century, during the resistance war and the subsidy period.

In particular, a number of artefacts feature craft villages and the traditional professions of ancient Hanoians.

"All of the artefacts and documents that the Hanoi Museum has received during this time hold cultural and spiritual values, demonstrating the development of Hanoi through historical periods," said Director of the Hanoi Museum, Nguyen Tien Da.

He noted that there are artefacts and antiques that organisations and individuals have carefully preserved for many years, over generations, which play a crucial role in the operation of the Hanoi Museum.

Da also expressed his gratitude to the donators, affirming that the donated artefacts are suitable to the exhibition plan of the museum in 2019.

On the same day, the Hanoi Museum launched a ceremony to call on individuals and organisations at both home and abroad to continue to donate documents and artefacts to serve the showcase at the museum.
