The event was organised by the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Central Committee.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh, head of the National Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, asked relevant ministries, sectors, and localities to co-ordinate with the VFF to mobilise non-state sources and donate to the Fund for the Poor to help needy people have a better life.
The Fund for the Poor raised over US$25.74 million in the first nine months of this year. At the launch ceremony, ministries, agencies, enterprises, and organisations donated around US$810,000 to the Fund for the Poor.
