The organising board are accepting registration forms from March 1-31. The preliminary rounds will take place in Hanoi for northern contestants from April 8-10 and in Ho Chi Minh City for southerners from April 2-4.
Sixty of the most outstanding competitors will be selected to enter the semi-finals scheduled for May 6-8 in Tuan Chau.
The contestant crowned Miss Sea Vietnam 2016 will receive a cash prize of VND200 million (US$9,000); meanwhile the first and second runners up will take home VND150 million (US$6,724) and VND100 million (US$4,483), respectively.
During the final round, the candidates will participate in charitable events as well as social activities improving the environment, contributing to promoting the sea culture and tourism of the country, particularly Quang Ninh province.
The Miss Sea Vietnam 2016, themed ‘Spreading Vietnamese Beauty’, aims to promote and honour the beauty of Vietnamese women associated with the beauty of Vietnamese seas and islands. The organising board will also attach special importance to examining contestants’ knowledge of the country’s seas and islands.
The Miss Sea Vietnam 2016 competition is one of major events of Quang Ninh province this year, and is expected to attract a large number of domestic and foreign visitors.
