Mexico opens new sea route to Vietnam
VTV.vn - The Port of Lazaro Cardenas (LCT), the largest Mexican container port, has launched routes to Vietnam and Chile on June 21, which will save up five days in transit time, from 13 days to 18 days.

According to an LCT representative, the sea routes will be operated through an alliance between TradeLink Pacifico and Kansas City Southern de Mexico rail companies. Exports from Houston, the US, to Vietnam will be transported to Lazaro Cardenas by train before being en route to Vietnam by sea. This route is at least 18 days faster than traditional ones through Long Beach or the Panama Canal. Lazaro Cardenas, one of the largest seaports in the Pacific Ocean basin, is operated by Hutchison Port Holdings. It is the largest container port in Mexico in terms of capacity and efficiency with a modern infrastructure.
