VTV.vn - The Mekong Delta's development relies heavily on agriculture.

In order to prevent and reduce the impact of climate change on agriculture, forecasting and warning are considered essential. These allow local authorities and residents to properly prepare for any weather occurrences. Recently, the Department of Crop Production has created a map that shows the threat of salinity and floods in the Mekong Delta.

Accordingly, there will be 6 regions with different climate change events such as: Dong Thap Muoi (facing floods and landslides); Long Xuyen Quadrangle (facing saline intrusion, flood); the West of Hau River (facing drought, unusual heavy rain); Ca Mau peninsula (facing drought, coastal storm); fresh alluvium area (facing drought, heavy rain, tides) and the coastal areas of Southern Vietnam (facing saline intrusion and drought).
