He said that the Vietnam Red Cross Society is popular due to its compassionate volunteers and that it has provided material and spiritual assistance to the needy and helped protect the environment, respond to climate change, and reduce poverty.
The government and Party have called on the Vietnam Red Cross to contribute to the IFRC and hoped the collaboration would grow stronger.
As of June 2017 the Vietnam Red Cross Society had nearly 8.5 million members and volunteers working at 17,000 chapters.
