PM Phuc calls for Vietnam - Sweden cooperation expansion

VTV.vn - Receiving Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom in Hanoi on Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on Sweden and the EU to soon ratify the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the bloc.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hoped Sweden would continue to invest in Vietnam, particularly in green technologies, clean energy and smart cities.

 In recent years trade between Vietnam and Sweden has been increasing and the figure is expected to reach 1.5 billion USD this year.

The Prime Minister welcomed the possibility of the two nations entering into a strategic partnership, focusing on fields like education and training, science and technology and medical services.

The Swedish Foreign Minister said she is impressed by Vietnam's economic growth as well as its efforts to usher in gender equality. She said Sweden too hopes to expand cooperation with Vietnam in the areas mentioned by the Prime Minister.
