VTV.vn - Hanoi City authorities held a meeting with representatives of the medical workers and frontline forces who have participated in the fight against the COVID-19 on February 22.

On behalf of the city’s leaders, Politburo member cum Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung highly appreciated the efforts and contributions made by medical staff, doctors and frontline forces in recent time, particularly during the battle against COVID-19 pandemic.

He stressed that the devotion of the medical staff, doctors and frontline forces in the COVID-19 fight have left a good image in the hearts of the people, fuelling the trust among the city’s dwellers that the pandemic will certainly be repelled.

As the pandemic has remained complicated, he called on the city’s health sector to stay alert and adopt further initiatives to complete the health system from the city to the grassroots level.

It is necessary to improve the effectiveness of preventive medicine in order to raise the quality of healthcare services, medical examination and treatment, he added.

At the meeting, 56 collectives and 27 individuals were presented with the Prime Minister’s certificates of merit in recognition of their remarkable contributions in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hanoi.

* On the evening of February 22, the Military Hospital 175 in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Television held an art programme to honour the “white blouse” soldiers.

The event features performances and talk exchanges praising the services of doctors and medical staff who are working in seas and island regions and frontline medical workers in COVID-19 prevention and control, as well as Vietnamese military doctors who have joined the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
