Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and 63 cities and provinces nationwide attended the event. After 13 years, Lam Dong Province has had 50,000 hectares of high tech agriculture, accounting for 17% of its total farming area. Most notably, hydroponic vegetables have helped the province earn 350,000 to 400,000 US dollars of revenue for each hectare per year. However, a number of localities have not managed to make effective use of the 4.4 billion US dollar preferential package. Lam Dong authorities have proposed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development establish mechanisms to forecast the domestic agro-market and reform administrative procedures for importing varieties and farming technologies.
