A conference discussing solutions to face natural disasters took place on Monday, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dzung, the Central Steering Committee for Natural disaster Prevention and Control, as well as related ministries and agencies.
According to recent data, 75 people have been killed or remain missing while 48 others suffered injuries due to natural disasters in the first six months of this year.
Total economic losses reached 38 million USD. Meanwhile, 2 tropical low pressure fronts are now entering the East Sea and are likely to become typhoons. Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dzung asked the Vietnam Electricity Company (EVN) to manage the operation of the Red River reservoir to ensure safety for the works and downstream.
