A Symphony Honoring the Life and Legacy of Ho Chi Minh
With the theme “May Gift to the Beloved Leader”, the elaborately staged program unfolded like a multi-movement symphony portraying the life and great career of President Ho Chi Minh. It recreated his childhood in Sen Village as Nguyễn Sinh Cung, his travels around the world to find a path to national salvation, and from his time at the revolutionary base in Pac Bo to his noble ideology of peace and human progress, every chapter of his life was recreated through music, song, dance, archival footage, and advanced 3D stage technology including hologram projection.
Opening with the gentle folk melodies of Nghe An – his homeland – the image of a young Nguyen Sinh Cung filled with aspirations gradually emerged.
The program is structured into three main parts, each of which represents a continuous emotional journey:
Chapter 1, The Seeker of a Nation’s Soul, vividly depicts the 30-year journey of Ho Chi Minh in search of a path to national salvation, from his departure from Nha Rong Wharf in 1911to his return in 1941. A highlight was the cinematic and emotionally rich performance “White Winters”, which recreated his cold, lonely days in Europe. There he tirelessly wrote articles and spread the message of freedom to the Vietnamese.
Chapter 2, The Flag of Peace, showcased President Ho Chi Minh as a national leader and a global moral compass, featuring performances such as “Singing in Pac Bo Forest”, “Praise to President Ho”, and “The Right to Live in Peace”. His legacy transcended borders, earning him recognition by UNESCO in 1987 as a “Hero of National Liberation and Great Man of Culture of the World”.
Chapter 3, Forever Shining – Ho Chi Minh, is a testament to the eternal light of Ho Chi Minh’s name. Although he has passed, his ideals live on. Dynamic performances like The Ho Chi Minh Trail, Vietnam – My Homeland, and the theatrical piece Following His Testament conveyed the enduring vitality of his philosophy in the hearts of the Vietnamese people.
A Star-Studded Artistic Lineup
The program brought together renowned artists of all generations: People’s Artist Thu Hien, Meritorious Artists To Nga, Luong Huy, Truong Bac, and younger performers such as Oplus, Duong Hoang Yen, Phuong Linh, Minh Chau, Cee Jay and Charlie Winston.The program also featured choirs, dance troupes, and major art institutions including the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre, Drama Theatre, Reform Theatre, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, and the Little Star Children’s Club.
Artistic direction was led by respected names: Ta Quang Dong, People’s Artist Xuan Bac, Meritorious Artists Truong Bac and Quynh Duong, and the Central Documentary & Science Film Studio. The show employed immersive 3D stage technology, interactive projections, Hologram effects, and modern lighting to enhance the visual experience for viewers.
