VTV.vn - Domestic tourism stimulation programmes will now focus on measures to ensure the safety of visitors and develop attractive products.

The tourism and aviation sectors have been heavily damaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially with the recent outbreak in Da Nang since July 25.

According to the General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Trung Khanh, the upcoming tourism stimulation programme for the second-stage of development will continue to focus on domestic tourists, aiming to develop both safe and attractive products.

The tourism activities must comply with epidemic prevention regulations in accordance with the guidance of the health sector and all set criteria.

In addition, effective digital technology solutions will be supplemented to detect suspected cases as early as possible.

When participating in tours, tourists must also follow the guidance of the Ministry of Health on 4 criteria: wearing face masks, implementing disinfection, completing medical declarations and keeping distance.

In addition, international air routes from Vietnam to China, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Cambodia and Laos will reopen from September 15-22.

From September 22, two more routes connecting Vietnam and Cambodia and Laos will be added.

Each route will be operated with a frequency of no more than two flights per week.

* Da Nang City is planning to restore its spearhead economic sector with the launch of new products and services to carefully serve tourists, aiming to both prevent the epidemic and boost the economy.

In the immediate future, the City’s Department of Tourism will plan to promote a strong image of the life of the local people so that visitors can see that their daily activities are returning to normal.

In the long term, the department will promote a stimulus programme to restore trade activities as well as re-establishing the tourist market, focusing on domestic travelers.
