For the mangoes to be exported to these markets, the Vietnam Plant Protection Department had to issue a plantation code for the farm and irradiate the mangoes.
At present, the total area of the mango plantations in the province is over 8,000 hectares. 400 hectares of them are dedicated to exports with yields estimated at around 3,100 hectares. Son La province expects to export nearly 600 tons of mango to Australia and China this month.
