Each kilogram of processed longan is priced at 4.82 to 5.7 USD. Due to social distancing, longans and drying racks have been delivered to workers' houses where the fruits are peeled.
Thanks to this solution, up to 2,000-3,000 tons of longans can be processed each day. Several cooperatives in Sông Mã district have even invested in cold storage to be able to preserve longan for as long as 12 months in case prices go down.
Sơn La province has also asked longan processors to maintain product quality and develop their brands to boost their competitiveness.
