Nowadays, Sinh Tồn Island is characterised by the peaceful images of decent housings, lush gardens and the laughter of children. All of these show that the government’s sea and island policy are yielding positive results.
Nowadays, when one sets foot on Sinh Tồn Island, it is easy to see how much the life of the locals has been improved. Every house is decent-looking and all of them have electricity and satellite TV. However, a residential area on the island doesn’t look complete without a vegetables garden in each house. Local residents here grow their own food along with raising animals and fishing to ensure their basic needs, but they always have the support of officers and soldiers stationed at the Island.
In addition to local residents, young people from the mainland also contribute a great deal to improving life on Sinh Tồn Island. They are young teachers, volunteering to for teaching posts on this faraway island commune. Despite the harsh and unpredictable weather in this area, the volunteered teachers always try their best to bring knowledge to the children.
Every year, along with new-born children, Sinh Tồn Island still receives mainland citizens volunteering to stay. The new people, the laughter of children and the lush vegetables gardens, all of them have made life at this faraway island commune more welcoming./.
