He suggested more co-operation in all fields based on the solid foundations laid by late Prime Minister Olof Palme. He urged the two countries to further tighten political-diplomatic relations, improve trade and investment linkages, and expand co-operation in such fields like education and training, green technology, transport, maritime security and environment, and marine economy. The special envoy said Sweden wanted to strengthen the special ties between the two countries. Sweden has been Vietnam’s most important Scandinavian partner, with two way trade turnover surpassing 1.2 billion dollars.
