The festival attracted kite artists and runners from renowned clubs in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong and Nam Dinh. Side activities at the event included a kite exhibition, kite making classes, a kite market, folk games, and cuisine. The festival, co-organized by the Vietnamese Kite Cultural Heritage Conservation Centre and Gamuda Land Vietnam, aimed to honour the kite making and kite flying arts as a cultural speciality of the country.
