The conferment, which included posthumous honours, marked the 68th War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27th. Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Thanh Hai expressed his profound gratitude for the mothers’ contributions. Over the past years, Ho Chi Minh City and the nation as a whole have implemented measures to care for heroic mothers, whose husbands and children died fighting for national independence and freedom. The city is home to over 4,400 heroic mothers, only 120 of whom are still alive.
