Every “touch” on a smartphone can connect us to the internet, help us make friends, message strangers, or call loved ones. And sometimes, from that very small touch can transform a person’s life.
A Young Woman Helping the Elderly Stay Connected in the Digital World
One such story comes from the family of Phan Bao Thy. Seeing her parents struggle with smartphones, she realized that despite rapid technological advancement, many older adults are still being left behind.
This led her to create the “Silver Digital Citizens” project. In this class, elderly learners take their first steps in making video calls, sending messages, recognizing scams, and using practical apps in everyday life.
“Million-View” Police Officers Sharing Stories from the Highlands
Elsewhere, small touches have brought about remarkable change. In Trung Son commune, Thanh Hoa province, police officers Ha Van Duc and Nguyen Van Quan used social media to share stories from their community. Without sensationalism or gimmicks, their simple videos capturing everyday life have reached millions.
During a visit to three children living alone in a modest house, the officers quietly adjusted a mosquito net and left behind small gifts. That humble moment, once shared, connected countless hearts. Support began to arrive, and the children's difficult circumstances gradually eased.
At the studio, the officers even hosted a livestream session to help local farmers sell their agricultural produce, standing in front of the camera to promote tit.
A Gentle Young Woman Connecting “Passion-Driven” Volunteer Teachers
There was no blackboard, no tuition fees and no fixed curriculum - just a willingness to learn and someone ready to teach. That is the spirit behind the “Gentle Class”, where knowledge is shared through “passion”. Everything is offered for free, from simple skills like creating PowerPoint presentations or improving speaking skills to more specialized fields such as programming and art.
These “teachers without salaries” are students, engineers, and working professionals who dedicate their time to helping others grow. Despite personal struggle and pressure, founder Hong is driven by a simple belief: if even one more person can learn or find motivation, every effort is worthwhile.
Three stories, three different ways of “touching”. A touch that connects generations. A touch that spreads compassion. A touch that shares knowledge. When these touches come together, technology is no longer just numbers and screens. Sometimes, a single touch is enough to change a life.
