After the ceremony, State President Trần Đại Quang attended a meeting with his Japanese hosts. This is the Vietnamese State President's first state visit to Japan, which has coincided with the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The Vietnamese State leader's visit is designed to affirm Vietnam’s unwavering external policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, and diversification in international relations, as well as its recognition of the importance of enhancing its extensive strategic partnership with Japan.
