Japanese economy recovers after natural disasters

VTV.vn - According to government data, Japan's economy grew at a rate of 1.4% in the fourth quarter of 2018, signaling a recovery from a string of natural disasters in the summer.

The growth is thanks to rising individual consumption and company spending after storms and earthquakes.

However, some economic experts warned that Japan's exports might decline this year if the US and China cannot resolve trade tension. Continued trade tension between two global economic giants will negatively affect Japan's exports of electronics, automobile components and other heavy machinery to the Chinese market.
