The deputy prime minister expressed his thanks to the Japanese government and people for providing emergency aid of 2.5 million USD to help Vietnam overcome the severe consequences of drought and salt intrusion in several central and Mekong Delta provinces. He called on Japan to continue ODA support for Vietnam during the 2016 fiscal year focusing on high-quality infrastructure, energy, responses to climate change, drought, and salt intrusion, and assistance in realizing the action plans for 6 sectors selected for Vietnam’s industrialisation strategy, part of the co-operation framework between the two countries.
