As of Feb 15, the Japanese government will issue multiple entry visas for short-term stays to Vietnamese nationals (ordinary passport holders) who reside in their home country. The allowable period of stay of the multi-entry visa is 15 days.
The visa used to have a term of validity of up to three years. For this regulation beneficiaries are businesses and academics visiting Japan for work. In particular, the term of validity of this visa will be extended from 5 years up to a maximum of 10 years. Under the new rules, after the first entry for the purpose of work, those who have been issued visas would be allowed to return to Japan multiple times for any purpose during the duration of the visa.
