Japan commits more ODA for Vietnam

VTV.vn - Japan has committed over 800,000 USD in official development assistance (ODA) loans to Vietnam for the first phase of fiscal year 2016.

A note to this effect was signed between Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fuka in Hanoi on January 15th.

Funds will support projects to develop the Da Nang -Quang Ngai national highway, expand and upgrade the capacity of Hai Phong International port, and implement measures to fight climate change.

The note includes basic requirements for the provision and receipt of the ODA loans. Based on these requirements, Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will sign specific agreements for each project.
