VTV.vn - Measures to limit software piracy in Vietnam enterprises, especially under the framework of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, were the main focus of a seminar by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hanoi.

Recent inspections at 541 businesses nationwide revealed that nearly 28,000 computers are running unauthorized software, comprising a total fine of some 450,000 USD. Copyright under the TPP will last for a 70-year term and violators are likely to be brought to criminal prosecution. Experts also pointed out the risks faced by businesses using unlicensed software, which are related to network security and malicious code. Foreign experts also shared international experience with Vietnam in complying with the intellectual property rights commitments of the TPP.
