VTV.vn - A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy, the Khmer-Vietnam Association and businesses in Cambodia offered incense in commemoration of fallen soldiers at the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh on July 27.

The incense offering ceremony was held on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947-2020).

Delegates observed a minute’s silence to show their infinite gratitude and commemorate the tens of thousands of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who perished when implementing international missions in Cambodia during wartime.

Also on July 26-27, an incense offering event was held in many Cambodian provinces, including Preah Sihanouk and Battambang, to salute Vietnam’s heroic martyrs.

* This morning, a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, led by Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, laid wreaths and offered incense at the HCM City Martyrs’ Cemetery in District 9 and the HCM City Cemetery in Thu Duc District.

At the HCM City Martyrs’ Cemetery, delegates observed a minute’s silence showing their deep gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers, war heroes and fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for the cause of national liberation and for the nation’s independence and freedom. They offered incense at the tombs of more than 15,000 martyrs.
