During the offensive, Hue was one of the three major urban battlegrounds from where strategic strikes were made against the US military.
45 reports were tabled at the conference, covering many aspects of the event, such as the 1968 Tet Offensive from the view of the US; Mau Than Mau Revolt and Uprising, viewed from the United States; memoirs on the 1968 Offensive by leaders and historical witnesses who directly participated in the 1968 Mau Than Mau campaign; and lessons drawn from the victory.
The offensive marked a combination of people’s strength and international support, and was a clear declaration of defeat for the US’s Vietnamisation strategy.
