Through the main activities held throughout the festival, visitors can go sightseeing, attend folk games as well as learn about the special features of the traditional activities and customs of Tet holiday. The organising board also resurfaced three old houses representing the family space of the three regions of the North - Central - South during Tet holiday to help visitors better understand the unique cultural features of each region.
Through vividly reenacting Tet holiday activities in various and diverse forms such as exhibitions, dramas, folk games, three regions’ cuisine exchanging programme. Tet Festival 2020 received positive reviews from visitors who went to experience it all. The impressive festival, honouring the traditional values of the Tet holiday, not only leaves a mark on the hearts of the elderly, but also makes many young people attending the Tet Festival 2020 also express their excitement a they have an opportunity to better understand the beauty of Vietnamese traditional customs. The approaching of the lively practices such as witnessing the reenacting of Lunar New Year's Eve rituals, the Lang Lieu story and the legend on Banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), seeing the Cay Neu (a tall bamboo tree) during Tet holiday, helps younger people clearly visualize on Tet holiday.
According to the organising board, after the success of this year's festival, it is expected that in the following years, Tet Festival will be held regularly on the first week of December to create a space for the public to enjoy a Tet space as well as a chance to go shopping.
It can be said that in recent years, many significant activities have been organized, such as Spring Flower Festival, Tet fair, organising folk games during Tet holiday. In particular, many exhilarating experiences and discoveries on Vietnamese Tet was organised at the Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi, attracting a lot of families to take part. These are useful and practical activities to help honor the cultural values of the traditional Lunar New Year's Day in the community, to create solidarity, a chance to bond and foster pride with the traditions of the nation in general and New Year's Day in particular. At the same time, activities are also an opportunity for international visitors to better understand the cultural identity of Vietnamese people, thereby helping to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world.
Experiencing many changes and ups and downs in history, the Vietnamese people still preserve a unique and pleasant culture; one of the highlights of which is the traditional Lunar New Year. Not only meant as an opening day for the lunar new year, the Lunar New Year also vividly demontrates the national tradition of 'when drinking water, remember its source', honouring the family, community, and showing love to forefathers, parents and filial piety of descendants. In the face of a phenomenon of some people, especially young people who are showing signs of detachment, disregard for traditional cultural values, even demanding to abandon the Lunar New Year, many people have expressed concerns about the risk of losing national identity in today's life. In order to prevent the "standard deviation" behaviors, every family as well as organizations and unions need education and call to help the community, especially younger people, to better understand and adore the national culture. From there, it is necessary to have practical thoughts and actions to join hands to preserve and promote the invaluable cultural assets that his father has left in the new era.
