VTV.vn - Around 30,000 additional workers are needed in Ho Chi Minh City following the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet), according to the Ho Chi Minh City Human Resources Forecast and Labour Market Information (Falmi) Centre.

Most of the new jobs are available in garments and textiles, footwear, food processing, sales, and mechanics, among others.

The labour shortage is attributed to the fact that many workers did not return to work after Tet and a number of enterprises are expanding their production and business.

Falmi said skilled workers and unskilled labourers account for 83.18% and 16.82% of the demand, respectively.

It is forecast that the recruitment demand at the beginning of the year focused on workers with salaries from VND5 to 8 million (accounting for 51.4% of total demand), over VND8 to 15 million (accounting for 28.56%), over VND15 million (accounting for 7.02%) and below VND5 million (accounting for 13.02%).
