Heavy rain over the past three days has caused damage in the northern mountainous areas. In some districts in Ha Giang, one person was killed and six injured.
In Bac Quang District, flooding also swept away many animals and crops; landslides of thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock buried 26 houses and caused local congestion on many roads between communes and villages.
In Nguyên Bình District, Cao Bang Province, a person was swept away by a flood. Dozens of houses and hundreds of hectares of rice and crops are damaged.
Yen Bai also had heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes, causing one death and nearly 170 houses lost their roofs.
