At the meeting, the municipal leader lauded the group’s investment in Vietnam, including many large-scale projects and constructions in HCM City. The city will work to improve investment climate and create optimal conditions for the operation of foreign investors and the Keppel Land Limited in particular, he said.
Sharing the implementation of HCM City’s ongoing projects, especially the Saigon Sport City, Phong asked the Singaporean group to complete a detailed plan on the project in line with the city’s requirements. Keppel Land was also urged to connect the project with the Rach Chiec Sports Complex, contributing to the city’s plan to host the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in 2021.
He also voiced his hope that the Keppel Land will participate in HCM City’s smart city building project, particularly the building of an innovative urban area connecting District 2, District 9 and Thu Duc district.
In reply, Loh Chin Hua said the group plans to cooperate with Microsoft Corporation in turning the Saigon Sport City into a smart urban area of Asia, with the use of smart technology in security, trade, renewable energy development and application of green solutions in urban development.
Noting that Keppel Land has operated in Vietnam for 30 years in infrastructure and property, he vowed that the group will spare no efforts to help the city perfect technical infrastructure for SEA Games 31.
