VTV.vn - Two out of 13 Vietnamese victims of the apartment fire in Ratchathewi district, Bangkok, Thailand, had been discharged from hospital as of April 4 morning.

Four or five other victims are expected to be able to return home during the day.

However, two victims in most serious conditions in the case, Le Thi Thuy Anh, a student, and Nguyen Thi Anh, a postgraduate, are receiving treatment at Chulalongkorn hospital.

After learning about the fire, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang instructed officials in charge of overseas Vietnamese affairs to promptly identify Vietnamese victims in hospitals.

The diplomat and the embassy’s staff also visited and offered encouragement to the victims.

Nguyen Dang Hoa Nghiem, President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Thailand, said his association has mobilized members to come to the hospitals to support the victims.

Rajtevee Apartment Limited Partnership, owner of the building, has sent representatives to visit the victims and committed to compensate for human and property losses.

Meanwhile, local authorities have swiftly arranged temporary accommodations for the building’s residents.

The fire occurred at about 2:30 am on April 3, killing three people and injuring over 60 others.

The Thai media on April 4 morning said that all the dead victims are Thai nationals.
