VTV.vn - Residents of Ho Chi Minh City- the country's current biggest COVID-19 hotspot are not allowed to go out after 6 pm starting July 26 to prevent the further spread of infections.

The decision was made as the COVID-19 pandemic in the southern metropolis continues to spiral. As such, enforcing even stronger measures is necessary, despite the potential impact on multiple areas.

Local authorities are calling for support and cooperation from local residents to enhance the efficiency of the fight against COVID-19. Ho Chi Minh City currently has 19 field hospitals and is mobilizing nearly 10,000 doctors and nurses.

The Ministry of Health has also sent more than 4,000 doctors and medical staff from central hospitals and provinces to support the city. While the speed of tracing and testing has been carried out quickly, it's struggling to keep up with the rate of infections. To cope with developments, the city is forced to tighten and implement Directive 16 with more advanced solutions.
