VTV.vn - Hanoi hosted a meeting and business dialogue with enterprises in the capital on November 28 to discuss measures to remove difficulties and obstacles for their production and business promotion.

The event was chaired by Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai as well as Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; and featured the participation of more than 400 representatives from enterprises.

According to Hanoi Party Secretary Hai, the capital attracted nearly 23,000 newly established enterprises in 2016, increasing the total number of enterprises operating here to 202,255. They have significantly contributed to creating jobs for local people, reducing unemployment, improving the people’s lives and raising economic growth.

He noted that the meeting aimed to assess the activities of enterprises, as well as to point out difficulties and challenges for their development and international integration to discuss measures to create favourable conditions in which for them to develop further, contributing to the country’s development and that of the capital in particular.

The Politburo member asked the agencies, branches and local governments in the capital to continue to drastically implement administrative reforms, particularly reforms to administrative procedures to ensure the legal rights and interests of businesses.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan affirmed that Hanoi would be a pioneer in improving the business environment to support enterprises in their operations. The City has established a Steering Committee for Removing Difficulties for Enterprises.

However, the capital’s leaders acknowledged that enterprises, particularly small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), still faced numerous difficulties, especially in access to the capital resources, land, consumption markets and scientific and technological applications. In addition, the city’s policies have not been synchronously implemented to create a driving force for businesses to improve their competitiveness in the market economy.

Chairman of the Hanoi’s Association for SMEs Do Quang Hien proposed that the city needs to remove more difficulties and shorten the process for comments to be made on each issue for enterprises.

Listening to enterprises’ opinions, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung specifically answered questions raised by delegates and noted that their opinions would be considered in solving problems for businesses.
