This announcement was made at the conference on strategic cooperation in the capacity to counter the effects of climate change for residential communities.
Investment in the project has reached nearly 30 million USD. The project was set up on the basis of cooperation between the United Nations Development Program and the Vietnamese government. The project will first be implemented in Thanh Hoa and Ca Mau provinces, with the plan to commence this August. The project is expected to support at-risk communities, vulnerable to natural disasters, to be able to relocate from these high-risk areas and improve their livelihood and well-being. Vietnam is currently one of the top 30 countries in the world most susceptible to the effects of climate change, making this project even more important.
