The ministry will distribute about 1,900 tonnes of rice seed, 148.6 tonnes of maize seed, and over 52 tonnes of various vegetable seeds.
Beneficiaries are Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho and Quang Ninh in the north, and the four central provinces of Quang Tri, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan.
Cultivation and production in the 11 provinces have been heavily affected by drought, storm and prolonged rains from July to August.
