Held annually by the European Union National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC), the European Day of Languages is an occasion for linguists, experts and the general public to learn more about Europe’s linguistic diversity.
The embassies of France, Italy, and Poland, as well as the Aula Cervantes, Wallonie-Bruxelles, the British Council, the Goethe-Institut, and L’Espace will be attending this year’s event.
Scientists, linguists and teachers of foreign languages will discuss and exchange experiences on the morning of November 28. In the afternoon, the Festival of
Languages will be opened to all those interested in experiencing the diversity of European languages, followed by workshops and other activities.
For the conference “Language Learning in Vietnam – Options and Perspectives from the European View”, those interested can register until November 23 with Ms Do Thi Thuy at ThiThuy.Do@Hanoi.goethe.org or call 04 37342251.
In “Festival of Languages”, which does not require registration, the participating institutions will present their respective languages and countries. Visitors have the opportunity to learn their first words in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish, and thus gain an impression on the linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe.
Posters, books and brochures about Europe and its languages will be showcased. Admission to all events is free.
Goethe-Institut Hanoi is located at 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District.
