The meeting was organized in order to evaluate the anti-corruption work in the first 6 months of 2020. According to the results, the anti-corruption work has been more methodical and intense.
Many officials have been disciplined, including senior officials and former members of the Politburo and the Central Committee. Also during the first 6 months, the functional forces prosecuted many suspects ending many serious cases. Many cases related to personnel of the Party Congress at all levels have also been clarified.
The Steering Committee has also removed many difficulties in handling the cases of several enterprises. In total, over 1.6 billion USD have been recovered. As for key tasks for the rest of 2020, General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong requested to focus on completing the first-instance trial of 9 key cases as planned.
The Steering Committee also instructed to urgently complete the inspections of the management and use of health insurance funds, and the procurement of medicines and medicinal equipment.
