While the export of many agricultural products showed signs of decline in the first quarter, fruits and vegetables still achieved export growth with an estimated turnover of 1 billion USD, up 7% compared to the same period last year.
After China lifted its strict hygiene measures over produce imports and extended the operating hours at border gates to 10 p.m. every day, the export of Vietnamese agricultural products in general and vegetables, in particular, has recorded strong growth, proving that China’s demand for Vietnamese fruits remains high.
According to the forecast of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, in the first two quarters of the year, the export turnover of vegetables and fruits was estimated at over 2 billion USD.
